• Company Overview: The internship program by CARESTREAM and Wexner Medical Center at the Ohio State University, funded by the state of Ohio's Medicaid program.
• The internship focuses on exposure and the opportunity to shadow various clinical staff, physicians, clinical duties, laboratory duties, non-clinical duties, and assisting patients, with help to learn professionalism and gain more experience for future training.
• Experiences and knowledge gained: standardized protocols of the Emergency Department (from admitting a patient to treatment), triage process, work with Epic Medical Record, how to rank the priority of patients, communication with distressed and agitated individuals, medical treatment and rules for inmates, observing multiple trauma cases and codes for patients suffering from cardiac arrest, and different positions in the hospital (nurses, different specialty doctors, technicians, etc.) and their daily work.
