Work History

First Officer

JINAIR
Seoul, Seoul
03.2018 - Current
  • Company Overview: Jin Air Flight Crew Group.
  • I have been working as a First Officer at Jin Air since 2018, with 2,660 flight hours on the B737. Throughout my career, I have prioritized effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) to ensure smooth communication and problem-solving within the cockpit. This focus has helped me maintain a strong record of safe operations.
  • I have consistently adhered to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), collaborated with captains and crew to ensure efficient coordination, and ensured proper functionality checks of aircraft equipment before takeoff. Additionally, I contributed to fuel efficiency targets through optimal flight planning, communicated effectively with tower control operators, and fostered a positive work environment by maintaining open communication channels with other departments, such as maintenance and ground staff.

J-File Manager

JINAIR
Seoul, Seoul
11.2022 - 05.2024
  • Company Overview: Flight Operations Standards Group, J-File Manager.
  • I am a First Officer at Jin Air, a Korean commercial airline, and I have been recognized for my diligence and expertise by being entrusted with the responsibility of managing the J-File within the Flight Operations Standards Group of the Flight Technical Standards Team. The 'J' in J-File stands for Jin Air, and the J-File is a comprehensive document that consolidates crucial flight-related information for all airports Jin Air serves. This includes verifying AIP, Jeppesen, AIM, Annex, and NOTAM documents, among others, ensuring that flight crews are thoroughly briefed on critical operational considerations, safety focal points, company advice, recent incident reports, airport approach videos, ATC procedures, and more before flying to any given airport.
  • Through my work on the J-File, I have helped to prevent deviations from safe operational practices in civil aviation by ensuring pilots are consistently reminded of important safety details. My contributions were particularly significant during Jin Air's recent inaugural flights to Nagoya, Japan, in September, and Phu Quoc, Vietnam, in December, where I reconfirmed and disseminated safety focal points and airport-related details that had been meticulously documented in the J-File.
  • I believe my efforts have played an integral role in supporting the safe operation of Jin Air's flights, especially as the airline has ramped up operations to meet the surge in demand for air travel following the pandemic.

Fighter Pilot

Korea Air Force

05.2005 - 02.2018
  • I served in the Republic of Korea Air Force for 15 years as a fighter pilot and instructor, flying F-5, T-50, and FA-50 aircraft. During my service, I logged over 1,900 flight hours and successfully completed more than 1,000 takeoffs and landings. I participated in numerous high-risk missions and large-scale exercises, playing a key role in their success. In particular, I served as the Flight Commander for the FA-50 at the 103rd Fighter Squadron, leading critical operations for the unit.
  • Additionally, I was the Operations Officer for the Black Eagles aerobatic team, where I oversaw the team's tactical flight training and operations. As an instructor pilot for the T-50, I trained junior pilots and enhanced their skills through simulator instruction as well.
  • I took part in major exercises, such as the Soaring Eagle exercise, where I played a vital role in advanced aerial combat training. In my role as Chief of Operations at the 8th Fighter Wing, I was responsible for developing and executing long-term operational plans for the unit.
  • Throughout my military career, I achieved a milestone of 1,000 hours of accident-free flight, contributing to my squadron's achievement of 20,000 hours of accident-free flying, for which I received a safety commendation.
