Assistant Operation Manager - Air Freight
- Maintaining compliance standards at all times - including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations, and customer requirements. Example: handling of hazardous material, oversized cargo, etc.
- Tracking air shipments, monitoring the schedule, and dispatching goods in transit.
- Assisting KAM Teams (Key Account Management) in planning transit times and routes, receiving bookings, and tracing lost or misdirected cargo shipments
- Coordinating with Custom House Broker / Consolidation Freight Stations (CFS) and truckers/trucking companies as appropriate
- Maintaining daily communication with overseas offices, carriers, and customers to monitor and update the status of shipments to ensure that all stakeholders are updated on all exceptions
- Offering ongoing support with proactive responses to service issues and providing troubleshooting to resolve all problems
- Having the ability to communicate proactively with all stakeholders including customers, through a high volume of emails, phone calls, instant messages, and in person.
- Contributing to maintaining strong vendor relationships - airlines, trucking companies, and others.
- Assisting branch sales and management in developing customer profiles so EFL origin and destination offices to understand client expectations to deliver the proper service at a profitable price
- Negotiating rate quotes in return for cargo space on behalf of individuals or companies
- Performing audits on shipment files ensuring proper processes and procedures are in place to deliver profitability to EFL and proper service is delivered to the client as well
- Preparing reports for management and customers
- Desiring to understand overall department process flow and constantly seek opportunities for improved efficiency
- Participating in special projects as required
- Performing other positions-related duties as specified by management.
